Congratulations to the Fall Court Interpreter Graduates

21 students completed TLC’s November Court Interpreter Workshop which qualifies them to register with the TN Administrative Office of the Courts (AOC) as interpreters. Most of the students were fluent in English and Spanish, but there were two who were fluent in English and Kurdish who completed the course.

Fall MITC Students Graduate

: The Fall cohort of TLC’s MITC program recently completed the 70-hour, 18-week course. 12 people completed MITC, including a high school student and a participant from Argentina. 11 are Spanish speakers and 1 speaks Arabic. 7 counties were represented. TLC’s program prepares students to take the test to become certified medical interpreters through either the CCHI or the NBCMI, the two organizations that certify medical interpreters in the U.S.

Fall TESL Students Graduate

Congratulations to our newest Teach English as a Second Language (TESL) program graduates! Four students completed TLC’s Fall TESL program. It was the 64th cohort to graduate.

TLC recently celebrated our most recent graduates for Teaching English as a Second Language (TESL). They are the 62nd cohort to complete our TESL course.

New Medical Interpreting Students Graduate

Congratulations to the 14 students who graduated from the Tennessee Language Center’s Medical Interpreter Training session on Dec. 13. The students represented 3 states (Tennessee, Alabama, and Oklahoma), 5 Tennessee counties, and two languages (Spanish and Mandarin Chinese). Mandarin Chinese was a new language for TLC and increases our total number of languages served to date from 7 to 8. TLC’s program prepares students to take the test to become a certified medical interpreter through either the CCHI or the NBCMI, the two organizations that certify medical interpreters in the U.S. Find out more about TLC’s medical interpreting program.

Spring 2022 TESL Students Graduate

TLC held graduation for its Spring 2022 Teaching English as a Second Language (TESL) students on Saturday, May 14. Five students completed the certification preparation course, and one has begun teaching English as a Second Language (ESL) classes for TLC.
