Program Overview
The Taxi Pro Hospitality Training Program (Taxi Pro) is a new 21 hour course for all new taxi drivers in Nashville. This program is the collaborative work of Tennessee Foreign Language Institute, the Metro Transportation Licensing Commission, Nashville Convention and Visitors Bureau, and the Nissan Foundation. Our goal is to formally educate all new taxi drivers in order to improve Nashville's public image and encourage tourism. There will be ten (10) training sessions during the inaugural 2009-2010 year and each session will accommodate 15 applicants. All Taxi Pro sessions are held over the course of 3 days. Each day covers a different topic relative to the taxi and hospitality industry including; customer service, map reading, cultural awareness, government rules and regulations for taxi drivers, and more. Our instructors are regional professionals with many years experience in diversity training and the taxi and hospitality industries.
