Support Us in Our Mission
You can be part of TFLI’s mission to open doors of communication within Nashville and across the globe. Donate your time or money to experience first-hand the impact of TFLI’s intercultural work right here in Middle Tennessee. If you choose to support us financially, your money will go to students in need of scholarships for ESL and foreign language classes.
There is also a unique opportunity for you to sponsor an ESL student and play a personal role in his or her English education. (Why does TFLI need donations?)
The TFLI Fund, Inc. is a 501c3 with a great volunteer board and a newly started group of Friends of TFLI, serving to support TFLI through fundraising events, which also raise awareness!
Volunteer Program
We have volunteer opportunities for people interested in exchanging office assistance or other skills for foreign language classes.
TFLI in the Community
The mission of the Nashville Cherry Blossom Festival Committee is to plant 1,000 cherry trees by planting 100 trees every spring over 10 years. These cherry trees will not only beautify Nashville’s landscape, but also provide a backdrop for the annual Nashville Cherry Blossom Festival.
Cherry blossoms, or sakura, have been the symbol of U.S.-Japan friendship since the Mayor of Tokyo donated 3,000 cherry trees to Washington, D.C. in 1912.
Cherry blossom festivals, or sakura matsuri, are celebrated every spring all over the United States. By attracting tourists and bringing a taste of Japanese culture to the local communities, these festivals contribute to international exchange and education as well as local economic development. TFLI is a proud sponsor of this annual event.
