Maria Simpson teaching Medical Spanish to staff at Alive Hospice

This class was very, very, very helpful. Though I was not able to attend regularly, it was worth going when I could. The sessions are great for an added help for vocabulary and a safe place to practice a new language. It was also very team building as an organization to see other employees trying something new together. I highly recommend it!

Wendy (Wiser) Knowlton, DO - Team Medical Director

I was in the Spanish class earlier this year and I loved it! Senora Simpson is a fantastic teacher and I loved learning phrases and brief conversations that are relevant to our work and will help me communicate with my spanish speaking families. I do need some more practice for sure so I am looking forward to it!

 Janie Taylor - Social Worker

Before I took the class I was afraid it was going to be boring...

but it was not boring at all--Maria made it fun and interesting!

I always feel more comfortable with my Spanish after leaving each class. The time passes very quickly because Maya [Spanish intructor] makes it so much fun.  Personally, I don't really have time to dedicate to this, but...I will continue with classes as long as she is teaching.  I can see a real chance of fluency at some point.           Gregory Richardson, TFLI Spanish language student  2009

This is my first time taking a class to learn a new language since high school.. class is fun and I have also learned some things about the Japanese culture that I did not know before. I was a little worried when I found out Mika was the normal teacher for the advanced class but she has been very patient. I have learned more in the last three weeks then I was able to figure out on my own in a couple years.“

Richard Henry, Beginning 1 Japanese Student Fall 2009
