Experience: Janice has been with TFLI since 1999, beginning as the State Court Interpreter Certification Program Coordinator and Director of Interpretation and Translation Services. In addition to her role as Executive Director, Dr. Rodriguez participates in the TN Supreme Court's Access to Justice Commission and is on the board of the Nashville Metro Police Department's El Protector program. She also serves as adjunct faculty for TN State University's College of Public Service and Urban Affairs. Janice lives in Nashville with husband Ernie, children Claudia and Javier. Experience: Trisha left her native Illinois to study Journalism at The University of Mississippi, starting a chain reaction of exploring new places. Following graduation she spent one year in Boulder, CO, taking writing classes at Colorado University. She learned about a TEFL Program in Spain from one of her instructors, and left for beautiful Barcelona weeks later. She spent one year teaching business English before moving back to Chicago.
After 3 cold winters in Chicago then Boston, she moved to Nashville, where she worked for The Tennessean, Nashville Public Radio, and as a Regional Marketing Manager for The New York Times. She has also recently worked on freelance writing projects for Cheekwood Botanical Garden and Museum of Art and White Thompson Marketing Agency.

Leah Hashinger, TFLI Volunteer volunteer@tfli.org Education: BA in Peace Studies from Goucher College  Experience: After graduating from Goucher College in 2008, Leah moved to Kagawa, Japan where she taught English for two years through the Japan Exchange and Teaching (JET) Program. She relocated to Nashville in 2010 for an Americorps position at the Vanderbilt Coaltion for Healthy Aging, where she presently fills the role of Refugee and Immigrant Health Outreach Coordinator.
