Q: Where are classes located?

A: All Taxi Pro classes are located at the Transportation Licensing Commission on 1417 Murfreesboro Road Nashville, TN 37214.


Q: Can I Register for Taxi Pro on the first day of class?

A: No. You must register for Taxi Pro before the start of class at the Tennessee Foreign Language Institute in Metro Center. No walk-in registrations will be accepted.


Q: When do I register for Taxi Pro?

A: You may register for Taxi Pro as soon as you pass the English Language Competency Exam. We accept cash, check, Visa, or Mastercard. It is strongly recommended that you register for classes on the same day you pass the English Exam at TFLI. Each class is limited to 15 students and there is a good chance the class will be full if you wait until the last minute to register.


Q: Will there be a test?

A: Yes, there will be a quiz at the end of each day of Taxi Pro. The quiz will be on information you learned that day ONLY. You must score an 80% or higher to pass the quiz.


Q: What happens if I fail a class?

A: If you fail a class you will be required to make it up during a future Taxi Pro Training Session. You will only have to make up the classes you fail at a cost of $25 per class. You have 2 months to make up any failed classes. If you cannot make up your classes in this time you will have to retake all 3 classes.


Q: What will I learn?
A: Taxi Pro covers a wide variety of topics related to the taxi and hospitality industries. You will learn customer service techniques, how to work with customers with disabilities, major landmarks, Nashville city history, map reading skills, culture and diversity training, transportation ordinance codes, how to stay safe on the streets, and trade secrets.


Q: I am a native English speaker; do I still have to take the English Language Competency Exam?

A: Yes, Every new applicant must take the English Language Competency Exam regardless of origin.


Q: What is a passing score on the English Language Competency Exam?

A: You must score an 85 or higher to register for Taxi Pro.


Q: What if I fail the English Language Competency Exam?

A: If you fail the exam you will be required to wait one (1) month before you area able to retake the exam. It is strongly suggested that you take English classes if you fail the exam. TFLI will provide you with a list of free English classes in the Nashville area.
